Smoke + light is the cheat code. Add the Antari Z-1500 to any lighting setup and the LED PARs go from “nice colours” to “this looks like a club”. Particularly good at the moment when the sun goes down and you want the energy to lift.
Tank holds enough fluid for a full evening; we include a litre of fluid in the rental.
What to know
- Don’t use indoors with smoke alarms unless you’ve disabled them temporarily
- Wind kills the effect outdoors — best in semi-enclosed spaces (covered terraces, marquees, indoor)
- Pairs naturally with LED PARs and moving heads
What to put it with
Smoke on its own is just fog in a room. It only earns its keep when there is a beam for it to catch:
- The 4× LED PAR uplight set or the Stairville MH-100 moving heads — the cheapest way to turn a room full of smoke into visible colour and moving beams.
- A laser — either the Laserworld EL-230RGB or the Cameo Wookie 200 animation laser. Lasers are close to invisible in clean air, so this is the one pairing we’d call near-mandatory rather than nice-to-have.
- The Eurolite LED Super Strobe — strobe fired through smoke is the drop moment people actually film.
When something else is better
- Small room, or nowhere discreet to hide a 6-litre machine — the Antari Z-1000X MK3 runs a 1000W heater and a 1.7-litre removable tank. Less output, far easier to tuck behind the booth.
- You want atmosphere all night rather than bursts of cloud — that is the Antari Z-350 Fazer. A smoke machine dumps a cloud that disperses; a fazer puts out a fine haze that sits in the air evenly.
- Daytime party — smoke is invisible in sunlight. The Eurolite B-200 bubble machine is the daylight version of the same trick.
