Split villa party gear guide: what to rent for groups of 10–50

Split is where we're based — free pickup, fastest delivery, biggest variety. Here's the honest breakdown of what to rent for a Split villa party by group size and budget, with the gear we'd actually send.

splitvillagear-guidegroup-sizeby-budget

Split is the easiest zone we deliver to — and not by a small margin. Our base is here, so doorstep delivery within the metro area runs €50 (vs €130 for Zadar, €260 for Dubrovnik), and pickup from our depot is free if anyone in your group has a car. This means a Split villa week can rent more gear for the same budget than the same week on Pag or Hvar.

If you’ve booked a villa around Split — city, the Marjan peninsula, Trogir, Stobreč, Podstrana, Brač, Šolta — here’s what we’d actually send for your specific group size and budget.

The setup question — three things to figure out

Before you pick gear, three answers settle 90% of the decision:

  1. How many people, indoors or outdoors? A 15-person pool deck is a different speaker than a 30-person inside-the-villa party.
  2. Is there mains power within cable reach of the speaker location? Determines whether you can use the mains-only options (cheaper per dB) or need battery-only.
  3. What’s the noise envelope? Most villa contracts cap amplified music at 23:00. If yours is one of them, the gear size matters less than the schedule.

Once those three are settled, the rest follows.

Group of 8–15 — the “we want music, not a sound system” tier (€85–€150/day)

You’re a small group, you’ve rented a 3-4 bedroom villa, the goal is good music during dinner + a few hours after. You don’t need a club rig.

The minimum that works: 1× Bose S1 Pro+ (€85/day) — single battery speaker, sits on the terrace table, Bluetooth pair the phone, 11 hours of battery. Loud enough for 15 people sitting around it. Not loud enough for a “dance party for 15”, but good enough for “music while we eat and chat.”

The upgrade: Yacht Sundowner pair (€175/day for 2× Bose S1 Pro+ in stereo) — yes it’s named Yacht Sundowner, no the package isn’t yacht-only. Two speakers paired in stereo across a Split terrace is meaningfully better sound than a single speaker; for 15 people who all want to hear it equally, the stereo image matters. Still battery, still moveable.

If the budget caps at €65/day, the JBL EON ONE Compact is the cheap-and-cheerful option. Doesn’t sound as nice as the Bose, has no XLR input, but it covers the basic “music for 12 people in a Split apartment” job and survives a beach trip.

Group of 15–30 — the “real party night” tier (€110–€225/day)

This is our most-booked tier in Split. Group rented a villa, planning one real party night, want it to feel like an event without going overboard.

Baseline: JBL PartyBox 710 (€110/day) — single big speaker, built-in light show synced to music, wheels, plug-and-play. Covers a 30-person inside-the-villa party comfortably. The built-in lights mean you don’t need a separate lighting setup — half the visual work done by one box.

Add the DJ pretense: Zrće Pre-Drinks package (€100/day) — PartyBox 710 + Pioneer DDJ-FLX4 controller. Cheaper than à la carte because we bundle. The FLX4 plugs into the PartyBox via aux, customer brings their phone or iPad with Rekordbox/djay, and now you’ve got a proper DJ booth instead of a Bluetooth queue.

The villa-night classic: Birthday with the Lights package (€225/day) — 2× Bose S1 Pro+ stereo + Pioneer DDJ-FLX4 + 4× LED PAR uplights + Antari Z-1500 smoke machine. This is the package that makes a Split villa living room feel like a venue. We rent this one almost every weekend in July and August. The smoke machine + magenta uplights are what move the room from “house party” to “actual event.”

Group of 30–50 — the “make this real” tier (€225–€400/day)

You’re hitting the upper limit of what a single battery speaker can do. The PartyBox 710 starts running out of headroom around 30 people standing — beyond that, you need either bigger boxes or a proper PA.

Option A: scale up to Soundboks Gen 4 (€175/day) — biggest battery speaker we rent, 126 dB peak, IP65 weatherproof. Pair two of them for €350/day and you have a proper outdoor villa-garden setup that covers 100+ people. Tip: pair via the Soundboks-link feature, don’t use Bluetooth to chain them — the latency is awful.

Option B: full Mackie Thump 215 pair (€175/day) — mains-only proper PA with stands. Sounds noticeably cleaner than any battery speaker at this scale because the amps are properly sized. Worth it if your villa has a covered terrace with mains within cable reach. Skip if you’re outdoor or off-grid.

Option C: Full Villa Rig package (€280/day) — our go-to for 30-50 person Split villa parties. Two Bose S1 Pro+ in stereo + Pioneer DDJ-REV5 + 4× LED PAR uplights + smoke + wireless mic. The REV5 is the controller difference — motorised jogs, scratch-DJ favourite, looks legit if someone in your group actually DJs. Total villa-party package.

What gear adds the most “real party” feeling per €

If you’re optimising for vibe-per-euro, in order:

  1. 4× LED PAR uplight set (€95/day). Throws magenta/cyan/amber light onto walls and palms. Transforms any Split villa living room from “lit kitchen” to “club energy” for ninety-five euros. Sound-activated, plug into mains, done.

  2. Antari Z-1500 smoke machine (€75/day). With LED PARs alone, the room looks lit. With smoke in the air, you can see the lights. The 2 cumulative effect is roughly 4× — it’s the single highest-impact €75 you can add.

  3. Sennheiser EW-D wireless handheld (€75/day). Speeches at the dinner, “happy birthday” moment, an MC role someone in the group naturally takes. Cheap. Outsized impact.

  4. Confetti shotgun + cartridge pack (€50/day for the gun, €55 for 6 cartridges). The 30-second peak-of-the-night moment. We rent these constantly for Split villa weddings and 30th/40th birthdays.

Sub-zones — fast notes

Split metro is huge. A few zone-specific tips:

  • Split city proper (Diocletian’s Palace, Veli Varoš) — apartments not villas, often have strict 22:00 noise rules, smaller speakers only. The Bose S1 Pro+ is usually the right call.
  • Marjan peninsula — proper villas with gardens, mains usually available, can go bigger. Drop the Full Villa Rig.
  • Trogir — €50 doorstep, same as Split. Lots of multi-family villa rentals here, family-friendly approach often the right vibe.
  • Brač (Bol, Supetar) — short ferry + doorstep delivery. Pay attention to delivery timing because we drive onto the ferry with the van.
  • Šolta — quieter, slower-paced, lower-key parties. Pairs of Bose S1 Pro+ make sense here, not the PartyBox.
  • Stobreč / Podstrana — apartment-style coastal sprawl, smaller setups dominate.

Delivery + logistics — fast version

  • Free pickup from our Split base (Marjan-side) if someone has a car
  • €50 doorstep to anywhere in the Split metro area, including Trogir + Brač
  • Reserve 5+ days ahead for July / August weekends — peak demand fills our calendar fast
  • Same-day delivery is possible in Split if we have a free van and your villa is within 30 min — costs €80 instead of €50 (rush fee)
  • Pickup at end of rental is the same logistics — driver comes back at the time you agreed
