The Soundboks Go is the smaller, lighter Soundboks. 40 hours of battery, IP65 rated (dust + spray-proof), and built to be dropped. 9.2kg makes it actually carryable to the beach or onto a tender boat.
This is what we send when a yacht crew says “we want a speaker that won’t die in salt air.” The Soundboks brand has a cult following for this reason — they ARE that speaker.
When to size up or across
- More than about 40 people, or an open beach with wind — 121 dB is loud for one box and still finite. The Soundboks Gen 4 reaches 126 dB and links up to five units over TeamUp, which is how you cover a whole yacht deck rather than one corner of it. It costs you 7kg.
- Speeches or a mic — the inputs here are 1/4”, 3.5mm and Bluetooth, so there’s no combo XLR for a microphone. The Bose S1 Pro+ has proper mic inputs and an 11-hour battery, and is the better pick for a charter with a toast in it.
- Music from a real setup rather than a phone — the 1/4” input takes the Denon Prime Go+ directly, which is the only DJ controller we carry that runs on its own battery. Two batteries, no cables, no shore power.
