The FLX4 is the easiest way to start DJing on a real setup. USB-bus powered (no separate brick to lose), works with Rekordbox, Serato Lite and djay Pro out of the box, and weighs nothing. Throw it in a backpack between villas.
We pair it with a couple of Bose S1 Pro+ speakers as the most-booked “villa starter” setup.
When to step up
- Two people want to trade the decks — two channels is the limit here. The Pioneer DDJ-FLX6-GT gives you four channels and a second headphone output, which is what back-to-back sets actually need.
- There’s no mains where the booth goes — the FLX4 is USB-bus powered, so it needs a laptop or phone that’s charged and staying put. On a yacht or a beach the Denon Prime Go+ removes both problems: standalone, no laptop, ~4 hours on its own battery.
- It needs to look like a setup, not a table — add the Headliner Indio DJ booth. It’s the cheapest change that makes photos of the night look like a party rather than a kitchen.
- Nobody brought headphones — add a pair of Pioneer HDJ-X5. Cueing on laptop speakers is not a thing.
